So its been quite the eventful weekend.....
Yesterday my BGs skyrockted b/c of swimming laps, and then kept going up and I couldnt get them down. Goes above the readable level so I inject insulin. Finally goes down to 320 after tons of injections and no ketones, so i go to dinner and just have yogurt. My BG then goes up, and up, and up so more injections and such and calls to Angela and talking to the other diabetic in my hallway. But when it kept climbing after 12 and the injection wasnt working, I went to the ER with my roommate and wound up getting an IV. I got released a little after 3 am when my BG went to 112. Got back crashed around 4 am...got up periodically to test. BGs were spiking agian. Near noon I had high ketones. Called the Dr was close to going to the ER again but thankfully managed to avoid it. But my BG basically has yet to go under 300 today but i finally got rid of the ketones after the Dr made me eat...go figure. But the reason I couldnt get my BG back down is b/c my insulin got to cold or froze and lost its potentency. So i'm on Lantus (stolen from camp) that wasnt in the fridge and humalog injections (to make it more effective and sure to get in my system?) until I get my new insulin tomorrow, and then at 10:30 pm I can start my basal rates again.
So, basically, its been fun.
But i'm back to the human race again, and my gluco watch has been crazy helpful.
*heres to hoping no more fun things happen*
